  • Technical Directors – Chromebooks: Chrome v73

AIR does not recommend updating your Chromebook machines to version 73 before testing. AIR is working closely with Google to address an issue in Chromebooks using version 73 that does not enable the TTS accommodation to be used correctly. The field will be updated once AIR confirms resolution for this version.

Please contact wyohelpdesk@air.org for support to help provide a workaround for Chromebooks that are using version 73.

  • Writing Prompt Inquiries - WY-TOPP Winter Interim

On the Writing portion of the WY-TOPP Winter Interim, a few scoring concerns were reported to the HelpDesk. Both AIR and WDE investigated these concerns anf performed human scoring for comparison purposes. In many cases, the schools were contacted and will be given clarifying information as to the reason for the score (e.g., zero (0) score due to a large section of the response being copied and pasted from the text). In a few cases, the student response may be invalidated and their ELA scores would be nullified. Please reach out to the AIR/Wyoming Help Desk if you have identified concerns.

  • Grade 6 Math Interim Issue/Resolution

During week 1 and week 2 of the winter window, January 15-25th, students taking the grade 6 mathematics assessment had a calculator available on the wrong segment of the test which did not align with the established Interim blueprint for grade 6 Math. AIR corrected the calculator availability upon discovery and before testing resumed Monday, January 28, 2019. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused during testing. Please note: the data did not show a significant impact on the overall grade 6 mathematics assessment.
